SINGER Sir Tom Jones is dating Elvis Presley’s ex-wife Priscilla, The Sun can reveal.
Although it is still early days, pals say the actress, 71, has put a smile back on old friend Tom’s face after the death of wife Linda last year.He chuckles at his tabloid nickname of “Nasty Nigel” – earned when he had the same job on the first modern talent show, ITV1’s Popstars in 2001. “But I think it’s a different world now – you’re going back 10 years.The nasty Nigel image came from the first time that generation had seen somebody be honest. No, I don’t think it’s nasty.” Recently, however, Lythgoe did cause a controversy in the US with his comment about a pair of male dancers when he said he was not a fan of “Brokeback ballroom” – a comment for which he later apologised.“That for me was a tongue-in-cheek remark,” he says.“It’s very sensitive here [in the US], as I found out, and I made my apologies. I didn’t like to see – and I think it’s alienating – two guys caressing each other on a family programme.“On So You Think You Can Dance, our young dancers are sexy, they’re hot, they’re passionate,” he says – but contends that even those feisty contestants value the input of a “judiciary” that has age and experience.
